3 Things to Help You Decrease Your Stress

So as my kids are both on morning Zoom classes, I picked up this month’s Physical Therapy magazine. In it was a short article called the “Five Minute Fix”. I thought wow- so simple, but a good reminder of how to decrease the stress in our lives. It’s been a rough year!

  1. Acknowledge your Feelings. It’s okay to feel stress. What you do about it will impact your health and well-being. Try to find a mindfulness app to help you. This blog has some suggestions. https://www.developgoodhabits.com/best-mindfulness-apps/

  2. Maintain Activity. It should come as no surprise that your physical therapist wants you to remain active. And “having a healthy fitness routine has been proven to have a significant impact on our thoughts an emotions.” Find a fitness video, take a walk, or do your home exercise program.   3. Prioritize Self-Care. Get enough sleep, rest time, exercise, and maintain positive social connections. Schedule a Zoom happy hour with friends. Take 10 minutes in the middle of the day to step away from work.
