Do We Breathe Differently With Our Masks On?

Many of us are still getting used to the “new norm” - wearing face masks and social distancing in the age of Covid-19. Research has shown mask wearing is highly effective in reducing the spread of Covid-19. Respiratory droplets from our nose and mouth are prevented from reaching others. These droplets are what carry the virus.

BUT DO WE CHANGE HOW WE BREATHE WITH OUR MASKS ON?

Most of us do not breathe adequately. We take short, shallow breaths instead of deeper diaphragmatic breaths. Then there are those who breathe through the mouth.
