Everyone knows that calcium is good for the bones. In addition to eating calcium rich foods, talk to your doctor about taking calcium and Vitamin D supplements. You need Vitamin D in order to absorb calcium.  

You should also eat plenty of potassium rich fruits and vegetables daily. A study by Sellmeyer found that this mineral had a positive effect on calcium metabolism. 

Eat plenty of protein. This will help maintain your muscle mass (important for strength).
